Pharmacist Support launches donation awareness campaign

The charity Pharmacist Support is to launch a campaign to raise awareness of the importance of donations to its future as it continues to help pharmacists and their families, former pharmacists and pharmacy students.

The initiative, known as TEAMGreen, which begins on World Pharmacists Day on September 25, follows the cancellation of most of its fundraising events this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Organisers said they hope it will “provide an opportunity for the profession to come together in support of a vital cause”.

“We, like many charities across the world right now, are having to find new ways to deliver our support to ensure that the people who need us are not cut off from help when they need it most,” said Pharmacist Support chief executive Danielle Hunt (pictured).

“Additionally, we are having to find new ways to engage donors and generate income that don’t rely on face-to-face activities, large scale events or gatherings.

“We’ve seen how recent events have impacted our pharmacy family on the front line and have worked hard over the past six months to ensure no one in our pharmacy family has to face challenging times without us by their side.”

Pharmacist Support ran its ACTNow wellbeing campaign between May and August to help pharmacists, trainees and students cope with the pressures of the pandemic.
